Future Integrative Medicine (FIM) is the official scientific journal of the Capital Medical University. It promotes future innovation in medicine by actively integrating the best of both traditional wisdom and modern scientific advancement. FIM publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed original research articles, reviews, opinions, commentaries, case reports, study protocols, and letters covering a wide range of topics that integrates conventional medicine and traditional medicine, as well as alternative/complementary medicine. FIM recognizes that the modernization and future-proofing of traditional medicine fundamentally rely on the rigorous application of modern medical science and cutting-edge biomedical technologies. Thus, FIM also welcomes studies applying advanced techniques (including molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, genomics, proteomics, advanced imaging, and systems biology) to dissect the underlying mechanisms of traditional or alternative medicine. Topics of special interest are outlined as follows:
- Application of modern medical diagnostics and therapeutics within integrative frameworks.
- Evidence-based studies investigating drugs, traditional Chinese medicine, dietary supplements, and other non-drug treatments.
- Efficacy and safety-guided biomarker research employing advanced analytical techniques.
- Epidemiologic studies
- Efficacy-associated pharmacological characterization
- Pharmacologically active substances and quality control
- Molecular mechanism studies (computational and in silico studies will not be accepted unless followed by experimental validation conducted with robust modern laboratory techniques).
