Time: September 24, 2026

This Commemorative Special Issue gathers research manuscripts and reviews on genetics and bioinformatics from the 15th International Multiconference on Bioinformatics of Genome Regulation and Structure/Systems Biology (BGRS/SB-2026), held from July 6–11, 2026, in Novosibirsk, Russia.

The Special Issue focuses on the regulation of gene expression at the transcriptional level, aiming to present new trends in animal genetics through next-generation sequencing technologies for understanding neurobiological mechanisms. In the research perspectives section, we concentrate on bioinformatics and systems biology methods for genomics and biotechnology challenges. Key topics include molecular mechanisms of gene expression regulation, transcription regulation, and network interactions.

The Special Issue also welcomes manuscript submissions from participants of the Young Scientists Multi-School SBB-2026 and PlantGen School 2026, organized by the Federal Research Center Institute of Cytology and Genetics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (FRC ICG SB RAS), Novosibirsk. The School is focused on PhD students and young scientists working in systems biology, bioinformatics, genomics, computational biology, genetics, and related fields. Participants are encouraged to submit original research articles and review articles relevant to the scope of the Special Issue.
