The Journal of Clinical and Translational Pathology (JCTP), the official journal of the Chinese American Pathologists Association (CAPA), invites submissions for its upcoming Special Issue on Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology, with Dr. Xiaoyan Liao from Mayo Clinic Arizona serving as Guest Editor.

This special issue seeks to highlight cutting-edge research and recent advancements in gastrointestinal and liver pathology, including original studies, review articles, and case reports. Submissions exploring disease pathogenesis, molecular mechanisms, tumor biomarkers, emerging entities, and novel diagnostic techniques for gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases are especially encouraged.

Priority will be given to articles addressing the pathogenesis, molecular alterations, diagnostic challenges, and novel diagnostic and prognostic approaches to gastrointestinal and liver diseases, with a high standard of peer review. All publications will be open access to readers, and all accepted papers will be highlighted in this special issue on our website.

This special issue presents updates on a broad spectrum of neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. Topics include diagnostic challenges and practical approaches to common and uncommon GI and hepatic lesions; inflammatory and immune-mediated disorders; precursor and hereditary conditions; epithelial, mesenchymal, neuroendocrine, and other rare tumors; primary and metastatic liver tumors; chronic liver diseases and their complications; transplant pathology; emerging biomarkers; molecular classification and testing; and advances in precision oncology. Studies integrating histomorphology with molecular diagnostics, digital pathology, and artificial intelligence are also encouraged.

Publication date: An article will be published online as soon as it is accepted.
