Corrigendum on: Nam SW. The CYB5R3–mARC1 Redox Axis in Metabolic Dysfunction-associated Steatotic Liver Disease: Mechanistic Basis and Therapeutic Prospects across the Steatosis–Cirrhosis–Hepatocellular Carcinoma Spectrum. J Clin Transl Hepatol 2026;14(9):977-991. doi: 10.14218/JCTH.2026.00482.

Text Correction

The original version of the article contained an error in the Abstract. It should read as:

CYB5R3 activation, and its combination with mARC1 inhibition, remain unproven. mARC1-directed small interfering RNA has entered phase 1 clinical testing, whereas no clinical trial of CYB5R3 activation or of the combination has been reported.

Instead of:

CYB5R3 activation, and its combination with mARC1 inhibition, remain unproven, and no clinical trial of this axis has been reported.

The original version of the article contained an error in the Introduction, the last sentence. It should read as:

I also state at the outset what the evidence base does not contain: mARC1-directed small interfering RNA has entered phase 1 clinical testing, but no clinical efficacy result for this axis has been reported, and every interventional result cited here is preclinical.

Instead of:

I also state at the outset what the evidence base does not contain: there are no clinical trials of this axis, and every interventional result cited here is preclinical.

The original version of the article contained an error in “Strengths, limitations, and clinical implications” section. It should read as:

It should also be stated plainly that no clinical efficacy evidence for this axis exists: mARC1-directed small interfering RNA has entered phase 1 safety and tolerability testing, human evidence of benefit remains genetic-epidemiological, and all interventional evidence of efficacy is preclinical.

Instead of:

It should also be stated plainly that there are no clinical trials of this axis: human evidence is genetic-epidemiological, and all interventional evidence is preclinical.

The original version of the article contained an error in the Conclusions. It should read as:

Clinical testing of this axis has begun with phase 1 studies of mARC1-directed small interfering RNA, but no efficacy result has been reported, and this should be borne in mind when weighing the strength of the genetic signal.

Instead of:

No clinical trial of this axis has yet been reported, and this should be borne in mind when weighing the strength of the genetic signal.

Error in Table

The original version of the article contained an error in Table 1, in the “Key finding” column of the row labeled “GalNAc delivery”. It should read as:

GalNAc-siRNA achieves strong hepatic selectivity and durable knockdown; MTARC1-targeting siRNA has entered phase 1 clinical testing (OLX75016; ACTRN12624000023550, ACTRN12624001111561), with no efficacy results reported

Instead of:

GalNAc-siRNA achieves strong hepatic selectivity and durable knockdown; MTARC1-targeting siRNA programs are in preclinical development across several companies (patent filings), and no clinical trial has been reported

The author apologizes for these errors. The corrections update the statement of clinical development status for mARC1-directed small interfering RNA. They do not change the evidence tiers, the effect estimates, the central hypothesis, or the recommendations originally reported.
